TRAIL ROUTE CONTEST
NJOHVA ROUTE SHEET/ TRAIL CONTEST IS NOW OPEN! THIS IS FOR STREET LEGAL VEHICLES ONLY!
NJOHVA wants to see how creative you can be? We’d like to see LEGAL routes thru STATE PARKS, STATE FOREST and all FISH AND WILDLIFE areas throughout the State of New Jersey. You will need to do TURN by TURN instructions as well as MILEAGES. Be creative and look for HISTORIC SITES as well as PLACES of INTEREST. Make sure GAS and RESTURANTS are included, also include the PARK OFFICE so that letters can be dropped off PROCLAIMING: I’M A RESPONSIBLE OHV ENTHUSIAST and I JUST ENJOYED EVERY DIRT ROAD IN YOUR PARK!

Here’s an example of what a route sheet should look like.
0.0 miles Start Shell Gas Station on Rt. 70 East
1.7 miles RWR (Right Woods Road)
2.3 miles XWS (Cross Woods Stream)
3.5 miles LWR (Right Woods Road)
5.1 miles XRR (Cross Rail Road)
7.2 miles XBT (Cross Black Top)
8.0 miles XHW (Cross Highway)
9.3 miles HIST (Historic Site)
1846 Stillwell House. First settler in the area, farmed and developed fields growing corn also built the first lumber mill on the Totowa River. Family is buried on the property behind ruins of house.
10.0 miles reset odometer to 0.0
0.0 miles SWR (Straight Woods Road)
0.9 miles BRWR (Bear Right Woods Road)
1.5 miles LSR (Left Sand Road)
4.5 miles RBT (Right Black Top)
6.5 miles WAWA and GAS on right. Reset to 0.0
0.0 miles RBT (Right Black Top)
3.6 miles LWR (Left Woods Road)
4.5 miles XWR (Cross Wood Road)
7.5 miles BLWR (Bear Left Woods Road)
Note this is just an example of a route sheet, but remember to reset odometer to 0.0 every 10 miles. And make sure to include GAS and FOOD stops.
NOTE: All Route Sheets will be posted on NJOHVA Website after the course has been tested and approved and that the route sheet will become public property of all OHV users in New Jersey!
